Help Spread the Light of the Lord
Now you are full of light from the Lord. Ephesians 5:8
Dear Friend of Centering Prayer,
A couple of years ago some of us came together from many places along the Florida Panhandle to form Contemplative Outreach of Northwest Florida. A core vision for this fledgling chapter is to provide support and opportunities for people to come together and pray, for local retreats and opportunities to be formed in contemplative service. In December, our Chapter sponsored a Workshop and Retreat for those who had a desire to become Centering Prayer Group Facilitators. In April, we offered training for individuals to become Commissioned by Contemplative Outreach to present Introduction to Centering Prayer workshops. This workshop instructed presenters on using Centering Prayer as the 11th Step.

We have learned through experience that no matter how much we give of our time and God-given talent, there is still a cost for retreats and prayer events, a cost that not everyone can afford. Our hope is that resources or not—those called to this way of life would never be turned away from events because of the lack of funds. So to broaden the possibility of inclusion in program offerings in the Panhandle of Florida, we the Servant Leadership Team of Contemplative Outreach of Northwest Florida have created a Scholarship Fund. We invite you to help us extend Centering Prayer formation opportunities to more people by donating to our Chapter’s Scholarship Fund.
I myself have benefited from scholarship funds. I recently attended a Heartfulness Retreat in Racine, WI, which was a retreat I was able to attend ONLY because of a partial scholarship from Contemplative Outreach. Please help us in our efforts to promote Centering Prayer in the Panhandle of Florida. Every single cent goes to someone with the desire to be transformed in the light of our Lord.
...Now you are full of light from the Lord…. May it be so, with your help.
With a grateful heart,
Carol Lewis, Coordinator

Gifts of Time & Service
We also need members of the Centering Prayer community to help our Chapter grow. Current volunteer opportunities are:
Writer/Editor: An individual willing to write or edit articles for our website and e-news. Examples are monthly features of Centering Prayer groups in the Panhandle or articles from our sponsored retreats.
Photographer (amateurs, welcome!): An individual willing to take photos at events and retreats for use on our website and e-news. Anyone with a digital camera can be helpful to us -- we don't require professional photography skills.
